Hi friends!
I am so glad you made it over to the Grace Gathered Home – a blog all about decorating, curating a home as a new-timer (or long-timer), and keeping things cozy. Things have been so crazy recently with us being gone from Omaha for almost two weeks (for college graduation & spending time with family!!) and we were just getting settled back in when Nathan found out he had to travel for a couple days for his job this week. BUMMER! But, that means I can get a ton of extra work done around the house (hopefully! lol)!

We have lived in Omaha for almost 4 months now and guys….our little apartment is nowhere near completion of being decorated or put together lol. Honestly, the only 2 spaces that are somewhat put together are the living area and our bedroom (and that’s okay!). Everything else was literally thrown together in a panic to make it seem like our home was actually put together, which we both know that it’s not quite yet lol. I’ve decided that I’m going to save up & wait until there is a really good sale to buy other things that we need (dining set, bar stools, more organization, all of that good stuff!) I’ve accepted it!
(side note: I am obsessed with the new headboard that we got a couple of months ago! You can read all about it here!!)
Today I have something so exciting to share with you guys & it’s one of the best decor pieces I’ve received in awhile! The sweetest Etsy shop, Cherie Kay Signs, sent me this gorgeous wooden sign and I could not be more pleased! I wanted something that had very natural tones to it (not dark-stained or dark wood!) and that would be big enough to cover most of the wall space above the bed!
Cherie knew exactly what I was looking for & made it happen QUICK! Within 3 days the sign was waiting for me at our front door! I have also been loving adding cozy touches like greenery, throw blankets, and candles to space in our home! Adding that special cozy touch just makes things feel welcoming and comfortable!

A little back story on the sign:
Nathan & I started dating when we were 17 & 18! Crazy, I know! After we were dating for 2 weeks or so, Nathan decided it was time to tell me that he loved me..over the PHONE! Lol yes, you read that correctly (sorry babe!!)! I remember it like it was this morning – it was probably 1AM (we always stayed up super late talking on the phone lol!) and out of nowhere Nathan just says ‘I love you!’. It took me a second to realize what he had actually said and I quickly returned an ‘I love you’ back to him. 🙂 Long story short, we started saying ‘I love you’ and then Nathan started saying ‘I love you more…..’
I chose this saying for the sign because it always reminds me of the beginning stages of our relationship and that it’s so important to keep dating/having fun with your spouse! Now every time I see it I always get butterflies 😉
Shop our Bedroom:
I am really loving the neutral and cozy tones of our bedroom! It’s nowhere near done yet, but this is a really good start! Truth be told – we don’t have a dresser! We have never had a dresser because it’s just not something that was at the top of our to-buy list lol. I have no clue when we will actually get one, but hopefully I’ll be able to add another angle of our bedroom to the blog!
